Pumpkin Pie Danish
These yummy Pumpkin Pie Danishes are the perfect way to kick start your Fall with all of the pumpkin flavor you love in an easy, handheld pastry!
Ingredients
- 2 Puff Pastry Sheets (Usually comes 2 to a box)
- 1 can of Pumpkin (Not Pumpkin Pie Filling)
- 4 oz Cream Cheese, softened
- 1 Tbsp Pumpkin Spice
- 3 Tbsp Sugar
- 1 Egg
- 1 Tbsp Water
- For Glaze:
- 4 oz Cream Cheese, softened
- 2/3 Cup Powdered Sugar
- 1/2 Tsp Vanilla Extract
- 2 Tbsp Milk
- Tools:
- 1 Ziploc or Icing bag
Directions
- Step 1 Take out your 2 sheets of Puff Pastry and let them thaw for 15 minutes on a lightly floured surface.
- Step 2 Preheat your oven to 400 degrees.
- Step 3 Beat together 4 oz of cream cheese, 1 can of pumpkin, pumpkin spice, and 3 tablespoons of sugar. Then set it aside.
- Step 4 Unfold and roll out your puff pastry dough to 12 x 9 inches on your floured surface. You will need to do this for both puff pastry sheets.
- Step 5 Once rolled out, take 1 puff pastry sheet and cut the dough in half. Then cut each half into 3 rectangles. You should end up with a total of 6 rectangles. Repeat these steps for your second sheet of puff pastry dough.
- Step 6 Score each puff pastry leaving half of an inch on each side. Do not cut all the way through the pastry. This helps the outer edges of the pastry rise around the filling.
- Step 7 Spray 2 baking sheets with cooking spray. Place your danishes on the baking sheets
- Step 8 Spread 1 ½ Tablespoons of the pumpkin filling in the middle of each danish. You are wanting to keep it off of the outer edges that you just scored.
- Step 9 Whisk together 1 egg and 1 Tbsp of water for the egg wash. Brush the outer edges of each danish with the egg wash.
- Step 10 Bake in the oven for about 20 minutes.
- Step 11 Let the danishes cool for 10 minutes
- Step 12 To make the Glaze, start by beating 4 oz of cream cheese. Then combine it with your powdered sugar, vanilla extract, and milk until it is smooth.
- Step 13 Place the glaze in a ziploc bag and cut the corner of the bag. Drizzle the glaze across your Pumpkin Pie Danishes.
- Step 14 Serve and Enjoy! 🙂
