Mini Vanilla Baked Donuts

Mini Vanilla Baked Donuts

Wanting a less guilty way to eat a dozen donuts by yourself? Just make these adorable mini ones! These are so much fun! And I just have to say that the mini donut pan is adorable all on its own. I decided to make these because I wanted something cute, sweet, and handheld to enjoy during Easter festivities. Since I made mine for Easter I went with a lighter glaze color and some pastel sprinkles. But you can decorate the donuts however you want! That’s half the fun!

In order to make this recipe you will need a mini donut pan. I bought mine from Hobby Lobby. I saw it and knew it was too cute to pass up. I tend to have that problem at craft stores… I come home with all the new things I bought and then put on a sort of fashion show to display them to my husband. I must say, he’s a pretty good audience. Or he’s at least learned to do the occasional “Oooo” and “Ahhhh.”

Anyway, back to the donuts. These are definitely a crowd pleaser due to how adorable and yummy they are. Be aware though that they are addicting and can easily be consumed by the dozens… Or maybe that’s just me and my lack of self control with all things sweet. But I can’t be the only one! Actually, I know I’m not — Shasta and Zoey lack this same control…. But who could blame them when they are looking at these donuts!?

So give these Mini Vanilla Baked Donuts a try, have fun with the decorating, and definitely share your pictures with me!

By:

Ingredients
  • 1 Cup All Purpose Flour
  • 1/2 Cup Sugar
  • 3/4 Tsp Baking Powder
  • 1 Egg
  • 1/2 Cup Milk
  • 2 Tbsp Butter, softened
  • 1 Tsp Vanilla
  • 1/2 Tsp Salt
  • Optional: Food Coloring & Sprinkles
  • Glaze:
  • 1/2 Cup Powdered Sugar
  • 1/2 Tsp Vanilla
  • 1 Tbsp Milk
  • Tools:
  • Mini Donut Pan
  • Ziploc or Piping bag
Directions
  • Step 1 Preheat your oven to 350 degrees and spray your donut pan with cooking spray.
  • Step 2 Place the flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt in a bowl and mix.
  • Step 3 In a separate bowl, add your egg, milk, butter, and vanilla. Mix until combined.
  • Step 4 Slowly add your wet ingredients to your dry ingredients and continue to mix until combined. Do not over mix.
  • Step 5 Place some of your batter into a piping bag. Cut a small hole in the end of the bag so you can pipe your donut batter into the pan. A ziploc bag will work just fine if you do not having a piping bag.
  • Step 6 Pipe the donut batter into the pan so each donut cavity is about half full.
  • Step 7 Bake the donuts in the oven for 7-9 minutes.
  • Step 8 Let the donuts cool for 3-5 minutes before flipping the pan to release the donuts.
  • Step 9 Respray your donut pan with cooking spray and repeat steps 5-8 until you’ve made all of your donuts!
  • Step 10 To make your glaze, combine the powdered sugar, vanilla, and milk in a small bowl. Add your desired food coloring. I like to dip some of my donuts and then add more food coloring to create a contrast of color! You can also pour half of your glaze into a separate bowl and use two different colors for added fun!
  • Step 11 Once your donuts are cooled, dip each donut into the glaze and then set aside to dry. Remember to quickly add your sprinkles as you go so they stick to your glaze.
  • Step 12 Serve and enjoy your mini donuts by the dozens!
